How to salary negotiation

 How to salary negotiation

Caution is important when talking about salary during an interview because sometimes we lose the opportunity to get a better salary from this small talk. But what to do about it?

Before joining any job, there is a negotiation on the salary issue. During salary negotiation, management tries to give the minimum amount of salary to any candidates. Many times, such a chakravyuha is woven on the negotiation table that the candidates accept the low salary offer and miss out on their best offer, as not everyone specializes in the art of salary negotiation. But you should not miss out on salary negotiation, for this, we are giving some tips, which may be useful for you.

  • Before going for the interview, know about the company concerned and its pay scale, and the position for which you are applying. And after this, determine salary based on your background and experience
  • Do not discuss salary in any interview till you get a job offer. If you do this, it may have the wrong effect. So let the interviewer decide whether they select you or not!
  • If you are asked about salary, then tell them that you can take a flexible approach in this matter.
  • Never take initiative about salary during the interview, let the interviewer speak only. Actually, when you are forced to speak about it, only then you tell me about your expected salary.
  • Do not discuss your previous salary. If the last salary talk goes, try to answer it very wisely.
  • Do not fully state your current salary. Nor should you explain why you want to leave the previous job?
  • When you are asked about your desired salary in the interview, it would be best to first put the ball in their court. You can say - 'I would like to pay as much salary as other employees of my merit. Another way could be to set a salary range instead of stating a particular salary. Like- 'I was thinking of an annual salary between one to one and a half lakhs. But keep in mind that you speak directly and clearly, never adopt other strategies.
  • Never ignore benefits etc. when it comes to salary. Sometimes the salary is slightly less, but with the salary, the benefits from the company are so important that their average becomes 40 percent of your salary. Therefore, special attention should be paid to these.
  • The facilities provided by the company have some fixes and some other types which are determined by negotiation such as sick leave, holidays, bonus, employee discount, training, and stock options.
  • Be sure to pay attention to the special reasons for which you should be offered so much. So always be ready to talk about your skills, work efficiency.
  • Be polite during salary negotiation.
  • Say 'yes' to any offer immediately. Yes, be sure and when you get an offer, give a positive answer. Also, please ask for at least 24 hours to reply.
  • If you think that you will not be able to accept this offer, then you think that what can be best for you there? Because you are not doing business with your future. Therefore, after careful consideration of any offer, it reached the right decision.
  • If you accept the salary level, then also take it in writing at that time. So never underestimate the salary negotiation in the interview, because the company always gives priority to such candidates who are already doing good work. Therefore it is in your benefit that you increase your income at every good opportunity.
